Welcome to the French Language Journal Challenge for APRIL 2026!
It has been awhile since I last posted a journal challenge and it is long overdue! Since the last post, life has become quite busy — I became a mother of 3 and still continued to work as much as possible between maternity leaves. And now it is time to get back to the journal challenges!
This month, all questions are about TRAVELLING!
Feel free to answer the questions as completely as you like and elaborate when you feel like you have more to say!
If the questions take you in a new direction, go for it! The whole point of this challenge is to get you writing as much as possible in French.

French writing prompts for April 2026
April 1, 2026 – Quel est le plus bel endroit que tu aies jamais visité ? Pourquoi l’aimes-tu ? As-tu envie d’y retourner ?
What is the most beautiful place that you’ve visited? Why do you like it? Do you want to go back there?
April 2, 2026 – Quel moyen de transport préfères-tu: l’avion, la voiture, l’autobus ou le train ? Pourquoi ? Cela dépend-il de la destination ? Explique ta réponse.
Which method of transportation do you prefer: plane, car, bus or train? Why? Does it depend on the destination? Explain your answer.
April 3, 2026 – Aimes-tu voyager seul/e ? Comment l’expérience change-t-elle lorsque tu voyages avec tes amis / ta famille ? Préfères-tu voyager seul/e ou avec des autres ?
Do you like to travel alone? How does the experience change when you travel with your friends / your family? Do you prefer travelling alone or with others?
April 4, 2026 – As-tu fait une croisière ? (Oui = Décris ton expérience. Qu’est-ce que tu as aimé ? Qu’est-ce que tu n’as PAS aimé ? / Non = Aimerais-tu faire une croisière ? Pourquoi penses-tu qu’une croisière pourrait être mieux/pire que d’autres types de vacances ?)
Have you been on a cruise? (Yes = Describe your experience. What did you like? What didn’t you like? / No = Would you like to go on a cruise? Why do you think a cruise can be better / worse than other types of vacations?)
April 5, 2026 – As-tu visité la France ? Raconte ton expérience. As-tu rencontré beaucoup de Français ? As-tu vu les sites touristiques incontournables ?
Have you visited France? Talk about your experience. Did you meet many French? Did you see the must-see tourist spots?
April 6, 2026 – Selon toi, est-ce que voyager est important pour une vie heureuse ? Cela dépend-il de la personne ? Explique ta réponse.
In your opinion, is travelling important for a happy life? Does it depend on the person? Explain your answer.
April 7, 2026 – Lorsque tu voyages, préfères-tu la plage ou la montagne ? Explique ta préférence en donnant au moins quatre raisons.

What is the most stressful thing that has happened to you during a trip?
April 12, 2026 – As-tu déjà voyagé dans un pays où tu aimerais vivre ? Lequel ? Pourquoi aimerais-tu y vivre ?
Have you ever travelled to a country that you would like to live in? Which one? Why would you like to live there?
April 13, 2026 – Combien de semaines de vacances as-tu chaque année ? Penses-tu que c’est suffisant ?
How many weeks of vacation do you have each year? Do you think this is enough?
April 14, 2026 – Qu’aimes-tu faire les jours de pluie pendant tes vacances ? Écris quelques phrases sur tes activités préférées.
What do you like to do on rainy days when you are on vacation? Write a few sentences about your favourite activities.
April 15, 2026 – As-tu déjà tenu un journal de voyage ? L’as-tu relu une fois rentrée chez toi ? Penses-tu que ce soit une bonne idée ?
Have you ever kept a trip diary? Did you reread it once you got back home? Do you think it’s a good idea?
April 16, 2026 – Décris ton voyage de rêve. Où irais-tu ? Que ferais-tu ? Avec qui voyagerais-tu ?
Describe your dream trip. Where would you go? What would you do? Who would you travel with?
April 17, 2026 – Quel pays ne visiterais-tu jamais ? Pourquoi ?
Which country would you never visit? Why?
April 18, 2026 – Penses-tu qu’on puisse passer trop de temps à voyager ? Crois-tu que ça deviendrait ennuyeux ?
Do you think one can spend too much time travelling? Do you think it would be become boring?
April 19, 2026 – Quel a été ton premier voyage ? Raconte en quelques phrases ce qui s’est passé et si tu l’as aimé.
What was your first trip? Write a few sentences about what happened and if you liked it.
April 20, 2026 – Aimes-tu goûter aux spécialités locales quand tu voyages ? Ou cela te semble-t-il trop risqué ?
Do you like to try local foods when you travel? Or does it seem too risky to you?
April 21, 2026 – Qu’aimes-tu faire quand tu arrives dans une nouvelle ville ? Te promener ? Trouver un bon restaurant ? Aller directement aux sites touristiques ? Te détendre ? Décris ta première journée idéale dans une nouvelle ville.

April 24, 2026 – Penses-tu qu’il soit important de prendre beaucoup de photos pendant les vacances ? Pourquoi (pas) ?
Do you think it’s important to take a lot of pictures while on vacation? Why (not)?
April 25, 2026 – Quel est l’endroit le plus isolé où tu sois allée ? Raconte ton voyage.
What is the most remote place you have ever been? Tell the story of your trip.
April 26, 2026 – On te propose d’explorer la jungle avec un guide local pendant trois jours. Accepterais-tu ? Justifie ta réponse (oui/non) en donnant au moins trois raisons.
You are proposed the chance to explore the jungle with a local guide for 3 days. Would you accept? Explain your response (yes / no) with at least 3 reasons.
