Welcome to the Italian Language Journal Challenge for APRIL 2026!
It has been awhile since I last posted a journal challenge and it is long overdue! Since the last post, life has become quite busy — I became a mother of 3 and still continued to work as much as possible between maternity leaves. And now it is time to get back to the journal challenges!
This month, all questions are about TRAVELLING!
Feel free to answer the questions as completely as you like and elaborate when you feel like you have more to say!
If the questions take you in a new direction, go for it! The whole point of this challenge is to get you writing as much as possible in Italian.

Italian writing prompts for April 2026
April 1, 2026 – Qual è il posto più bello che hai visitato? Perché ti piace? Hai voglia di tornarci?
What is the most beautiful place that you’ve visited? Why do you like it? Do you want to go back there?
April 2, 2026 – Preferisci viaggiare in aereo / in macchina / in autobus / in treno? Perché? Dipende dalla destinazione? Spiega la tua risposta.
Do you prefer to travel by plane / by car / by bus / by train? Why? Does it depend on the destination? Explain your answer.
April 3, 2026 – Ti piace viaggiare da solo/a? In che modo l’esperienza cambia quando si viaggia con altre persone? Preferisci viaggiare da solo/a o con altre persone?
Do you like to travel alone? How does the experience change when you travel with other people? Do you prefer travelling alone or with other people?
April 4, 2026 – Sei mai andato/a in crociera? (Si = Descrivi la tua esperienza. Cosa ti è piaciuto? Cosa NON ti è piaciuto? / No = Ti piacerebbe andare in crociera? Perché pensi che una crociera possa essere migliore/peggiore di altri tipi di vacanza?)
Have you ever been on a cruise? (Yes = Describe your experience. What did you like? What didn’t you like? / No = Would you like to go on a cruise? Why do you think a cruise can be better / worse than other types of vacations?)
April 5, 2026 – Hai mai visitato l’Italia? Racconta la tua esperienza. Hai conosciuto molti italiani? Hai visto i tipici luoghi turistici?
Have you ever visited Italy? Talk about your experience. Did you meet many Italians? Did you see the typical tourist spots?
April 6, 2026 – Secondo te, viaggiare è importante per una vita felice? Dipende dalla persona? Spiega la tua risposta.
In your opinion, is travelling important for a happy life? Does it depend on the person? Explain your answer.
April 7, 2026 – Quando viaggi, preferisci andare in spiaggia o in montagna? Spiega la tua preferenza con almeno quattro ragioni.
When you travel, do you prefer to go to the beach or the mountains? Explain your preference with at least four reasons.
April 8, 2026 – Cosa facevi durante le vacanze estive da bambino/a? Racconta la tua memoria più felice / interessante!

April 12, 2026 – Hai mai viaggiato in un paese in cui ti piacerebbe vivere? Dove? Perché ti piacerebbe viverci?
Have you ever travelled to a country that you would like to live in? Where? Why would you like to live there?
April 13, 2026 – Quante settimane di ferie hai a disposizione ogni anno? Pensi che siano sufficienti?
How many days of vacation do you have each year? Do you think these are enough?
April 14, 2026 – Cosa ti piace fare in una giornata di pioggia quando sei in vacanza? Scrivi qualche frase sulle tue attività preferite da fare.
What do you like to do on a rainy day when you are on vacation? Write a few sentences about your favourite activities to do.
April 15, 2026 – Hai mai scritto un diario di viaggio? L’hai riletto dopo essere tornato/a a casa? Pensi che sia una buona idea?
Have you ever written a trip diary? Did you reread it once you got back home? Do you think it’s a good idea?

In your opinion, is it possibile to spend too much time travelling? Do you think it would be become boring?
April 19, 2026 – Qual è stato il tuo primo viaggio? Scrivi qualche frase su cosa è successo e se ti è piaciuto.
What was your first trip? Write a few sentences about what happened and if you liked it.
April 20, 2026 – Ti piace assaggiare cibi locali quando viaggi? O ti sembra troppo rischioso?

What is the most remote place you have ever been? Tell the story of the trip.
April 26, 2026 – Qualcuno ti dà la possibilità di esplorare la giungla con una guida locale per 3 giorni, ci andresti? Spiega la tua risposta (si / no) con almeno 3 ragioni.
Someone gives you the chance to explore the jungle with a local guide for 3 days, would you go? Explain your response (yes / no) with at least 3 reasons.
